Eddy Current Testing Technology- First Edition

      

Eddy Current testing uses electromagnetic energy. An Alternating Current (AC) is applied to a coil of wire and the AC in the coil has an alternating magnetic field that induces a current in the conductive test piece. These induced currents are called Eddy Currents because they flow in circles at and just below the surface of the material.
