Olympus OmniScan Phased Array - 140

This five day course is designed to introduce engineers, managers, and inspectors to the principles of ultrasonic phased arrays. The course details the history of industrial phased arrays, the principles of phased arrays and digital instruments, an introduction to the Olympus OmniScan portable phased array unit, and several sample applications. The attendees will work through hands-on exercises illustrating the capabilities and imaging of phased arrays from prepared application files; some individual set-ups may be possible. Typically, two attendees will share the use of an OmniScan unit. We recommend that participants be well versed in standard industrial ultrasonic theory in order to gain the maximum benefit from the course material.

Olympus OmniScan Phased Array & TOFD - 141

The Olympus OmniScan Phased Array & TOFD course provides the knowledge required to effectively examine a variety of materials and components. Our hands-on approach to practical exercises is complemented by access to a selection of engineered and actual flaw samples. The TOFD capabilities of the OmniScan will be examined in detail, with emphasis on technique development and ASME code case 2235 implementation. We recommend that attendees have attained Level 2 or 3 certification in industrial ultrasonics and have a working knowledge of the OmniScan instrument prior to attending this course.
